Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party (UNP), MP Ravi Karunanayake, says that instead of exerting pressure on the government, the opposition should focus on cooperation and working together.
Speaking to the media, Karunanayake stressed that a country can only be built through collective effort. He noted that many of the statements made by the opposition would be difficult to implement once they assume power.
He further emphasized that Sri Lanka’s strength lies in setting aside conflicting views and uniting around common goals.
Karunanayake added that such a program must be pursued in the national interest, regardless of whether one is in government or opposition.
