The Archdiocese of Colombo has announced the passing of Reverend Father Benedict Joseph at the age of 85.
Father Benedict was ordained as a priest of the Catholic Church by the late Father Thomas Cardinal Cooray at St. Lucia Cathedral, Kotahena, on 19 December 1970.
Over the years, he became a prominent figure in Sri Lanka’s media landscape, contributing to television, radio, film, and print media.
