Former UNP Deputy Leader MP Ravi Karunanayake has urged Sri Lanka to focus on boosting exports as the most effective way to strengthen the country’s economy.
Speaking to the media, Karunanayake emphasized the importance of exporting all products with market value. He also highlighted tourism and the information technology sector as crucial avenues to increase foreign reserves.
The MP further noted that industrial development in sectors such as garments and rubber, along with reducing agricultural imports, is essential for sustainable economic growth. He stressed that such strategies form the foundation for the development of a country’s economy.
