Showers will occur at times in Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces, as well as in the districts of Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara-Eliya.
A few showers may also be experienced in the North-western Province. Showers or thundershowers are likely in some areas of Uva Province, and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 p.m.
Fairly strong winds of 30–40 kmph can be expected at times over the western slopes of the central hills and across the Central, Northern, North-central, and North-western Provinces, as well as in Trincomalee and Hambantota districts.
The public is advised to take necessary precautions to minimize the risks of lightning and temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
