Director of the Police Traffic Control and Road Safety Division, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manoj Ranagala, announced that strict action will be taken against the display of nameplates and designations on vehicle windshields.
Speaking during a television discussion, SSP Ranagala explained that up to one-fifth of the front windshield area may be darkened to reduce sun exposure. Apart from this, only the revenue license is permitted to be displayed.
Responding to questions about government officials and others displaying their designations on vehicle glass, he emphasized that the law applies equally to all, and violations will not be tolerated.
