Former UNP Deputy Leader, MP Ravi Karunanayake, has warned that the United National Party (UNP) and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) risk remaining in opposition indefinitely if they fail to act with mutual respect.
Speaking in an interview with ceylonwire.lk, Karunanayake emphasized the importance of both parties treating each other respectfully and reaching a cooperative agreement.
He noted that during this process, primary issues such as leadership should not be raised. Instead, he urged both parties to move forward under a new program, leaving behind old disputes and differences.
“The focus should be on progress from this moment, not on carrying forward past issues,” the MP added.
