Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party (UNP), MP Ravi Karunanayake, says the current government is following the same policies it once opposed under the previous administration.
Speaking to the media, the MP said he is pleased with the government’s approach, particularly regarding the restructuring of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).
He noted that when similar reforms were introduced by the former government, those now in power strongly opposed them. Karunanayake added that since many of the current leaders led strikes against the earlier restructuring efforts, they are well aware of the underlying issues and possible solutions.
The MP further emphasized that both employees and consumers should be safeguarded during the restructuring process.
