The Police Narcotics Bureau has arrested the owner of a fishing boat in connection with the recent seizure of over 700 kilograms of drugs in the Seenimodara area of Tangalle.
Police reported that the haul, recovered from three lorries, included heroin and crystal methamphetamine (ice). Investigations revealed that the drugs were illegally brought into the country by sea and transported using a small fishing boat.
The arrest of the boat owner took place during a police raid as part of an ongoing investigation into the illegal drug network, authorities said.
