The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) reports that 158,971 foreign tourists visited the country in September, marking a 30.24% increase compared to the same month last year.
According to the latest data released by the SLTDA, India remained the leading source market, with 49,697 visitors in September — accounting for 31.3% of total arrivals.
The report further notes that 10,527 tourists arrived from the United Kingdom, 9,344 from Germany, 10,527 from China, and 5,144 from France during the month.
Between January 1 and September 30 this year, a total of 1,725,494 tourists visited Sri Lanka. Of these, 375,292 were from India, 161,893 from the United Kingdom, and 122,144 from Russia, the Authority added.
