The Department of Meteorology has forecast showers or thundershowers in most parts of the island after 1.00 p.m. today.
In addition, showers or thundershowers may occur in several places in the Western Province and in the Galle and Matara districts during the morning hours, the Department said.
Misty conditions can also be expected in some areas of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva Provinces during the morning.
The Met Department advises the public to take necessary precautions to minimize damage caused by lightning and temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
