The Department of Meteorology has announced that showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and Northwestern provinces, as well as in the Mannar district, today (13).
Showers or thundershowers are also expected in other areas after 1.00 p.m. Fairly heavy rainfall of around 75 mm is likely at some locations in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and Uva provinces.
Misty conditions can be expected in parts of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces during the morning.
The general public is advised to take necessary precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
