Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus arrived in Sri Lanka this morning to attend the 78th South-East Asia Regional International Health Conference as the Chief Guest.
Dr. Tedros arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake at 9:40 a.m. on Qatar Airways flight QR 660 from Doha. He was welcomed by Dr. Anil Jasinghe, Secretary to the Ministry of Health and Mass Media.
The conference, organized by the World Health Organization, will be held in Colombo from tomorrow until October 15. Health Ministers from countries across the South-East Asian region are expected to participate in the event.
