Former UNP Deputy Leader, MP Ravi Karunanayake, stressed that imports must be managed carefully to prevent the depreciation of the Sri Lankan rupee, warning that a decline in its value could severely impact the economy.
Speaking to the media, he noted that rupee depreciation would also have significant consequences for the national budget.
MP Karunanayake acknowledged that the government is generating the expected revenue from vehicle imports but emphasized the importance of using the funds saved from this revenue effectively.
