Former West Indies cricket legend Chris Gayle has been appointed as the brand ambassador for the sixth season of the Lanka Premier League (LPL), which is scheduled to take place in 2026.
Following the cancellation of the 2025 edition, tournament organizers announced that the upcoming season will return “in a new way,” with Gayle serving as the main attraction as the LPL seeks to regain global cricketing attention.
Launched in 2020, the LPL has grown into one of Sri Lanka’s premier T20 tournaments, featuring top international players alongside talented local cricketers.
While the official schedule has yet to be released, organizers say preparations are underway to make the 2026 edition the biggest season yet.
