The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has reminded that all locally produced ready-to-serve fruit drinks must obtain the Sri Lanka Standards (SLS) Product Certification Mark before being sold in the market.
According to the CAA, imported fruit drinks in the same category also require prior approval for sale under the Import Inspection System.
The purpose of this regulation is to ensure product safety and quality standards for consumers, in accordance with national food and beverage certification requirements.
Consumers seeking further information or wishing to lodge complaints can contact the Consumer Affairs Authority via the hotline 1977.
