President announced that a joint plan will be formulated in collaboration with relevant institutions to mitigate flood risks in areas including Colombo, Gampaha, Galle, Ampara, Mannar, and Puttalam.
He made this announcement while presenting the 2026 Budget Proposal to Parliament, adding that Rs. 250 million has been allocated under a medium-term framework to implement the initiative.
