Showers or thundershowers are expected over most parts of the island after 1.00 p.m. today (11), the Department of Meteorology announced.
Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm is likely in parts of the Uva, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, and Central provinces, as well as in the Ampara and Batticaloa districts, according to the Met Department.
Showers may also occur in the Northern Province and the Trincomalee District during the morning hours.
Meanwhile, misty conditions can be expected in the Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces, and in the Ampara District during the early morning.
The general public is advised to take necessary precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
