The new pension scheme established for the fishing community officially commences today (22).
An inauguration ceremony was scheduled to take place this morning under the patronage of Prime Minister Harini Amarasooriya.
Chairman of the Agricultural and Farmers’ Insurance Board, Premasiri Jasinghaarachchi, stated that beneficiaries will be eligible to receive pension payments upon reaching 60 years of age.
