Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephone conversation with Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake yesterday (01), expressing his condolences over the loss of life and destruction caused by Cyclone Ditva.
Prime Minister Modi conveyed India’s solidarity with Sri Lanka during this difficult time and reaffirmed that assistance under Operation Sagar Bandhu would continue.
He assured that India will remain committed to supporting Sri Lanka’s rescue and relief operations, as well as efforts aimed at rehabilitation, restoration of essential services, and the rebuilding of affected communities.
President Dissanayake expressed his gratitude for India’s swift response, including the deployment of rescue teams and emergency relief supplies.
The two leaders also agreed to maintain close communication as the situation continues to evolve.
