President Anura Kumara Dissanayake praised the Sri Lanka Army for its steadfast service to the nation and its people during challenging times.
He also commended the Army for its exemplary contribution to rescue and relief operations carried out in response to the recent cyclone.
The President made these remarks while attending as the Chief Guest at the commissioning and passing-out parade of cadet officers at the Sri Lanka Military Academy in Diyatalawa this morning (21).
President Dissanayake congratulated the newly commissioned officers as they begin their professional military careers after successfully completing their training.
In his address, the President noted that although Sri Lanka has long been a proud and respected nation, recent decades have seen a decline in values, weakened social cohesion, and various forms of national deterioration.
He emphasized that the responsibility of restoring the country’s global reputation as a nation respected for its values and integrity lies with all Sri Lankans.
Accordingly, President Dissanayake called on everyone to work together with unity and commitment to achieve this national goal.
