Several spells of showers are expected in the Northern, North-Central, Uva, Eastern and Central provinces today (13), the Department of Meteorology said.
Showers or thundershowers are likely at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts, after 1.00 p.m.
The Meteorology Department added that fairly heavy showers exceeding 50 mm can be expected at some places.
Meanwhile, misty conditions are likely in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces, and in the Galle, Matara and Kurunegala districts during the early morning hours.
The general public has been advised to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.
