Over 131,000 Tourists Arrive in Sri Lanka in First Half of 2026

The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) reports that 131,898 tourists visited Sri Lanka during the first 15 days of 2026.

According to the SLTDA, the highest number of daily arrivals was recorded on January 15, when 10,483 tourists entered the country.

India emerged as the largest source market, contributing 23,786 visitors, followed by Russia with 14,785 arrivals, the United Kingdom with 12,166, and Germany with 9,260 tourists.

The figures indicate a strong start to tourism in 2026, with steady arrivals from key international markets.
