A total of 158,787 tourists have arrived in Sri Lanka so far in 2026, according to data released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
The figures show that India remains the largest source market, with 28,686 arrivals, accounting for 18.0 percent of total tourist arrivals this year. This is followed by Russia with 16,956 visitors, the United Kingdom with 15,189, Germany with 10,837, and France with 7,508 arrivals.
In comparison, 252,761 tourists visited Sri Lanka in January 2025, highlighting a strong performance during the same period last year.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka recorded a historic high in tourism in 2025, with a total of 2,362,521 foreign nationals visiting the island, according to the SLTDA.
