Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party and Member of Parliament Ravi Karunanayake says that despite political differences, what matters most for the country at this time is for all parties to work together.
He added that the first step toward this goal is to transform the existing distrust between parties into mutual trust.
The MP pointed out that even on the international stage, opposing parties can collaborate for a common purpose. He cited the ongoing dialogue between the United States and Russia to resolve the Ukraine conflict as a prime example.
Ravi Karunanayake further stated that the country should carefully reconsider its current political situation, especially as it marks 77 years since gaining independence.
