Department of Meteorology Sri Lanka said showers will occur at times in the Central and Uva provinces, as well as in the Ampara, Batticaloa, and Hambantota districts today (15).
A few showers may also occur in the Northern, North-Central, and North-Western provinces and in the Trincomalee district. Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers are expected at several other locations after 1.00 p.m.
Fairly heavy rainfall of around 75 mm is likely at some places in the Rathnapura, Kalutara, Galle, and Matara districts, the Department added.
Misty conditions can be expected during the early morning hours in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Central provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts.
The general public is advised to take adequate precautions to minimize possible damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
