Iran has rejected a U.S. proposal aimed at ending the ongoing conflict, stating that any resolution will depend on its own terms and timing, according to a senior political-security official.
Speaking to Press TV, the official said Tehran will not allow U.S. President Donald Trump to dictate when or how the war should end, emphasizing that Iran will continue its operations until its conditions are met.
The official noted that Washington has attempted to initiate talks through multiple diplomatic channels, but described the proposals as unrealistic and disconnected from developments on the ground.
Iran also expressed distrust toward past negotiations in 2025, claiming they were not conducted in good faith and were followed by military actions.
Tehran has outlined several key conditions for ending the conflict, including a complete halt to attacks and assassinations, guarantees against future aggression, compensation for war damages, and an end to hostilities across all fronts involving regional groups.
It also stressed that its authority over the Strait of Hormuz must be recognized as part of any agreement.
According to the official, Iran has informed intermediaries that a ceasefire will only be possible if all its conditions are accepted, adding that no negotiations will take place otherwise.
He reiterated that military operations will continue until those terms are fulfilled.
