Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has claimed that around 14 million Iranians, including himself, have volunteered to sacrifice their lives amid the ongoing conflict.
The statement came ahead of a deadline set by U.S. President Donald Trump, who has warned of potential strikes on Iranian infrastructure if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened.
According to the Iranian leader, the number of volunteers has doubled compared to previous calls issued through media and public messaging as the conflict escalates.
Iran, with a population of around 90 million, is facing growing internal and external pressures, and the announcement is seen as an effort to demonstrate national resolve.
In his statement, President Pezeshkian said he remains personally committed, declaring his readiness to sacrifice his life for the country.
The situation continues to evolve as tensions between the United States and Iran intensify.
