Welikada Police say that 102 Chinese nationals have been arrested over alleged illegal online activities carried out using computers and electronic devices.
According to police, a large quantity of computers and various electronic equipment was also taken into custody during the operation.
The raid was conducted at a housing complex in Rajagiriya on Welikada Road with the assistance of officers from the Criminal Investigation Department Sri Lanka.
Police stated that the operation was launched based on information received by the Senior Superintendent of Police in charge of the Nugegoda Division and the Director of the Environmental Protection Division, following the obtaining of a court-issued search warrant.
Further investigations into the incident are currently underway.
