The Department of Meteorology Sri Lanka says the prevailing showery conditions across Sri Lanka are expected to continue over the next few days due to a low-level atmospheric disturbance near the island.
According to the Department, showers or thundershowers are likely at most places after 1:00 p.m.
Morning showers are also expected in the Western, North-Western, and Northern provinces, as well as in the Trincomalee, Galle, and Matara districts.
Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm is likely in parts of the Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, Southern, and North-Central provinces.
The Department further noted that misty conditions may occur during the early morning hours in some areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces.
The public has been advised to take necessary precautions against temporary localized strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.
