The National Building Research Organisation has issued Level 1 (Yellow) landslide early warnings for several Divisional Secretariat Divisions in five districts due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions in Sri Lanka.
According to the NBRO, the warnings will remain in effect until 9:00 p.m. today (11).
The following areas have been placed under landslide watch alerts:
- Passara Divisional Secretariat Division and surrounding areas in the Badulla District
- Ridigama Divisional Secretariat Division and surrounding areas in the Kurunegala District
- Naula Divisional Secretariat Division and surrounding areas in the Matale District
- Ambanganga Korale, Rattota, Badalkumbura, and Wellawaya Divisional Secretariat Divisions and nearby areas
- Godakawela Divisional Secretariat Division and surrounding areas in the Ratnapura District
The NBRO has advised residents in these areas to remain vigilant for signs of landslides and follow instructions issued by authorities during the warning period.
