Narendra Modi has been conferred with the Royal Order of the Polar Star, the highest honour awarded by Sweden to a head of state or government.
The recognition marks the 31st international honour received by the Indian Prime Minister.
According to official information, the Royal Order of the Polar Star was established in 1748 and is awarded for outstanding personal service to Sweden or Swedish interests, as well as for distinguished public service and responsibilities.
Prime Minister Modi arrived in Sweden yesterday on a two-day official visit.
He was received at Gothenburg Airport by Ulf Kristersson.
