The National Building Research Organisation has issued Level 2 (Amber) and Level 1 (Yellow) landslide early warnings for several areas in Sri Lanka due to continuing heavy rainfall.
The warnings will remain in effect from 5:00 p.m. today (24) until 5:00 p.m. tomorrow (25).
Level 2 – Amber Warning (Be Alert)
Residents in the following Divisional Secretariat Divisions have been advised to remain on alert for possible landslides, slope failures, rock falls, and earth slips:

Level 1 – Yellow Warning (Remain Vigilant)

- Horana
Kegalle District
- Bulathkohupitiya

The NBRO has advised residents in vulnerable areas to remain highly vigilant for warning signs such as ground cracks, tilting trees, sudden muddy water flows, and unusual sounds from slopes or embankments.
People living near steep slopes, cut areas, and unstable hillsides have been urged to follow instructions issued by local authorities and evacuate immediately if conditions worsen.
