Sri Lanka Has Sufficient Fuel Stocks Until September, Says CPC

May 29, 2026

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) says the country currently has sufficient fuel reserves to meet demand until September.

Speaking on the country’s fuel supply situation, CPC Managing Director Mayura Neththikumara stated that a vessel carrying approximately 89,000 metric tons of crude oil from the United States arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday.

He further noted that another crude oil shipment is scheduled to arrive in the country on May 31.

Neththikumara also stated that authorities are continuing to monitor fuel supply requirements amid ongoing global energy market uncertainties.

Meanwhile, he announced that a discussion is scheduled to be held next Monday regarding fuel prices for the coming month.

The statement comes amid public concern over fuel supply and price movements following recent volatility in global oil markets and regional geopolitical tensions.
