Several spells of showers are expected today (08) in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts, according to the Department of Meteorology.
The Department said mainly dry weather will prevail across most other parts of the island.
Meanwhile, strong winds of 40–50 kmph are expected at times over the western slopes of the Central Hills, as well as the Northern, North Central, Central, Sabaragamuwa and North Western provinces, and the Hambantota and Trincomalee districts.
The Department of Meteorology has advised the public, particularly those in affected areas, to exercise caution due to the prevailing strong wind conditions and to stay updated with the latest weather advisories.
