The International Cricket Council (ICC) Executive Board has reviewed the current status of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), with particular attention to the progress made in preparing its revised constitution.
The matter was discussed during the ICC Annual General Meeting held in Edinburgh, Scotland, where the Executive Board approved several decisions relating to governance, membership and cooperation among member nations.
Among the key decisions, the ICC once again strongly urged Sri Lanka Cricket to conduct its board elections as soon as possible.
The Executive Board also decided to continue the restriction preventing Sri Lanka Cricket representatives from attending ICC Executive Board meetings for the foreseeable future.
As a result, Sri Lanka will remain excluded from the ICC’s highest decision-making body until board elections are held under the amended constitution and an independent governance structure is established.
