A total of 73,455 dengue cases have been reported across Sri Lanka so far this year, according to the National Dengue Control Unit.
The Unit said 1,025 new dengue cases were identified within the past 24 hours, while the number of dengue-related deaths has risen to 50.
The highest number of infections continues to be reported from the Gampaha and Colombo districts.
During the first 15 days of this month alone, 17,051 dengue cases were recorded nationwide.
The National Dengue Control Unit further stated that 175 Medical Officer of Health (MOH) divisions across the island have been identified as high-risk dengue zones.
