Foreign Ministry Launches 24-Hour Hotlines to Assist Sri Lankans in Nepal

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism has established round-the-clock emergency helplines to support and coordinate relief for Sri Lankan citizens currently remaining in Nepal amid ongoing local developments.

Sri Lankan nationals in need of urgent facilitation or emergency help on the ground are advised to reach out directly to the Sri Lankan Embassy in Kathmandu via phone at +977 985 104 8653 or through email at slemb.kathmandu@mfa.gov.lk. The diplomatic mission in Kathmandu remains fully operational to offer immediate liaison services, local assistance, and guidance for affected individuals.

For families and stakeholders seeking updates within Sri Lanka, Director General of Public Diplomacy and Ministry Spokesperson Thushara Rodrigo has been appointed as the primary contact person. He can be reached for inquiries via mobile or WhatsApp at 070 788 7778, by email at publicity@mfa.gov.lk, or through fax at 0112 473 899.

The Ministry has advised all Sri Lankan citizens residing in or traveling through Nepal to prioritize their safety, maintain caution, and regularly check official channels for further updates as the situation evolves.
