The Sri Lanka Parliament is set to remain prorogued from midnight on Friday, January 26, until February 07 (Wednesday), according to a proclamation published in the government gazette by President’s Secretary Saman Ekanayake.
This prorogation signifies the conclusion of the fourth session of the 9th Parliament and has been executed in accordance with the powers vested in the Head of State by Article 70 of the Constitution.
The subsequent parliamentary session is slated to commence at 10:30 a.m. on February 07.
