According to police reports, a total of 1,189 road accidents were reported within the first 25 days of January 2024. Among these accidents, 130 proved to be fatal, resulting in the tragic loss of 136 lives.
The alarming statistics shed light on the persistent issue of road safety in the region. Last year alone, a staggering 22,804 road accidents were reported, claiming the lives of 2,280 individuals.
