Police have confirmed that at least ten individuals lost their lives in a series of road accidents occurring in various parts of the country over the past 24 hours.
Among the reported incidents, four fatalities occurred in two separate accidents in Pussellawa and Hali-Ela. Additionally, six individuals lost their lives in six distinct accidents in Mahiyangana, Kirindiwela, Ambalantota, Pugoda, Matara, and Thanamalwila.
According to Police Media Spokesman DIG Nihal Thalduwa, five out of the eight accidents were attributed to vehicles skidding off the roads.
