The inflow of workers’ remittances to Sri Lanka has shown a notable improvement, with the country recording an inflow of USD 544.4 million for May 2024. Data released by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) reveals that the cumulative figure for the period from January to May 2024 stands at USD 2,624.4 million. This reflects a significant increase of 11.8% compared to the same period last year, indicating positive growth in remittance earnings for the country.
