In its statement, the BASL offered best wishes to the President in fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of his high office.
The association expressed confidence that President Dissanayake will honor the promises made to the people of Sri Lanka, who have entrusted him with the mandate to uphold the rule of law, ensure judicial independence, promote good governance, and end the culture of impunity that has deeply affected the country’s political, social, economic, and cultural spheres.
The BASL further expressed its hope that the President will lay the groundwork for a unified Sri Lanka, where all citizens are treated equally, fostering a common Sri Lankan identity that transcends ethnic, racial, religious, and other divisions that have long troubled the nation.
