Laugfs Gas PLC has announced that the current shortage of its gas cylinders will be resolved within the next two days. Dr. W.K.H. Wegapitiya, Chairman of Laugfs Gas PLC, stated that several regions across the island are experiencing shortages due to distribution issues.
Dr. Wegapitiya explained that delays in gas imports were caused by the recent conflict in the Middle East, which disrupted Laugfs’ supply chain. Additionally, flooding at the main Laugfs terminal further impacted distribution.
However, a shipment of LP gas arrived yesterday (28) at the Hambantota port. Dr. Wegapitiya assured that distribution will resume island-wide, with full supply restoration expected within the next two to three days.
