The police have initiated an evaluation of the security requirements for Members of Parliament (MPs) and ministers following growing concerns about their safety.

Acting Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasooriya stated that certain MPs and ministers have reported receiving threats, raising questions about their security arrangements.

He confirmed that a thorough threat assessment is underway, and decisions regarding the necessary security measures will be made based on the findings.
