Showers or thundershowers are expected at a few locations in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Mannar districts after 2:00 p.m., the Department of Meteorology said.
Mainly dry weather is expected to prevail across the rest of the island.
Misty conditions may occur in parts of the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces, along with the Ampara District during the early hours of the morning.
The public has been advised to take necessary precautions against temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
Meanwhile, due to the sun’s apparent northward movement, it will be directly overhead Sri Lanka between April 5 and April 15. Today (09), areas such as Chilaw, Bingiriya, Halmillawewa, Panduwasnuwara, Gokarella, Kawudupelella, Koppaveli and Kirankulam will experience overhead sun conditions at around 12:12 p.m.
