Showers or thundershowers are expected at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, and Eastern provinces, as well as in the Polonnaruwa, Galle, and Matara districts after 1:00 p.m., according to the Department of Meteorology Sri Lanka.
Showers may also occur during the morning in coastal areas of the Southern Province and in the Colombo and Kalutara districts.
Misty conditions are likely in parts of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces, as well as in the Ampara and Polonnaruwa districts.
The public has been advised to take necessary precautions to minimise potential damage caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.
