The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber advisory for heavy rainfall in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and Uva provinces, as well as the Batticaloa and Ampara districts.
The advisory, issued today (15), will remain in effect until 8.30 a.m. tomorrow (16).
According to the department, some areas in the affected provinces and districts may receive more than 100 mm of rainfall.
