The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education has announced that applications are now open for the 10th intake of the Interest-Free Student Loan Scheme for students who passed the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
Eligible students can submit their applications online from 1 November to 30 November 2025 via www.studentloans.mohe.gov.lk.
The scheme enables students to pursue English-medium degree programmes offered by recognized non-government higher education institutions.
To qualify, applicants must have obtained at least three simple passes in one sitting at the Advanced Level Examination and be under 25 years of age as of 1 November 2025.
Under the scheme, students are entitled to a maximum loan amount of Rs. 1.5 million, along with an additional Rs. 75,000 per year for living expenses. The loan is interest-free and can be repaid over 12 years, including a one-year grace period after completing the study programme.
Students must maintain a minimum of 80% attendance and achieve a credit pass in all compulsory subjects to remain eligible.

Participating institutions include SLIIT, CINEC, Horizon Campus, ICBT, Lyceum Campus, Saegis Campus, NSBM, ESOFT Metro Campus, and several others.
