An audit report has revealed the urgent need for comprehensive reforms in private hospitals across the country, highlighting the importance of establishing a fair and affordable fee structure, as well as a national rating system for all private medical centers.
According to the report, a formal mechanism should be introduced to set, monitor, and evaluate standards for all registered private hospitals and clinics.
The report further emphasized the necessity of enforcing minimum qualifications for staff recruitment, maintaining proper training standards, and ensuring the delivery of quality patient care.
Additionally, the audit recommended that authorities legislate and enforce these standards, ensuring that national recruitment criteria are consistently applied when hiring healthcare professionals.
It also proposed the establishment of a formal system to address public complaints against private hospitals, including an online platform for lodging grievances and providing timely redress for affected patients.
