The Badulla District Road Development Authority (RDA) has identified at least ten hazardous locations along the Ella–Wellawaya road, between Ella and Rawana Ella.
Officials stated that special investigations are underway to assess the risks, and repair work has already begun in areas where hazards can be mitigated by filling soil.
Meanwhile, police have reported that despite the placement of warning signs along the Ella–Rawana Ella section, many motorists continue to ignore them, heightening the risk for road users.
